Our Story
A legacy of excellence
Global South Open Health Education (GSOUTH) is a not-for-profit institution advancing equitable access to world-class health education across Africa. Our mission is to bridge the gap in global health learning by offering affordable, flexible, and high-quality academic and professional training in critical fields such as applied epidemiology, biosecurity, pandemic sciences, sustainable health, and health system strengthening.
In collaboration with a local Nigerian university, GSOUTH brings together renowned experts from leading institutions in both the Global North and South to deliver transformative learning experiences. Our hybrid model combining interactive online teaching with local, in-person assessments ensures learners gain both global perspectives and local relevance.

Beyond education, GSOUTH actively engages in applied research, strategic health consulting, and support for outbreak preparedness and response. We work alongside governments, NGOs, and health agencies to co-create solutions that strengthen public health systems and improve population outcomes.
